Making the most of your visit with us

BOOKING:

*EARLY RESERVATIONS:  We recommend making your appointment at least one week early (especially weekends, holidays and our busy season of May through October). Your spa experience may be more relaxing and leisurely if it is planned at a less crowded time, so you may wish to try to come at off peak times such as weekdays.

*HEALTH ISSUES:  Inform the receptionist of anything that may affect your appointment (i.e. pregnancy, injuries, diabetes, etc) so we can match you with the right treatment and therapist. Please also inform the staff if you have special requests such as integrating other modalities like acupressure, reflexology, or trigger point therapy into your session.

*RECOMMENDATIONS:  Please ask our staff for recommendations. If you are planning a mixture of services there may be spa packages or suggestions regarding the order in which you receive treatments.

*RE-BOOKING:  Book your next visit on your way out, especially if you intend to request a therapist. This way we can ensure you get the appointment time you want with the desired therapist.

ARRIVING:

*15 MINUTES EARLY:  Allow yourself enough time.  You should arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment to allow for a stress free check-in and time to unwind.  Groups of 4 or more should arrive 30 minutes early.

*TEA ROOM:  Take time at the end of your visit by enjoying some solitude and to sip a beverage in the tea room. Try not to rush back into the world.

GENERAL TIPS:

*Enjoying a light or small meals just before a massage is fine, but do avoid eating a heavy meals which may cause discomfort.

*Taking a shower, sauna, or soak before a session is recommended to begin warming and loosening any tight muscles you may have and it provides a clean body to work with. Our tranquility suites offer all three--be sure to inquire about availability when booking your appointment.

*The best way to receive a massage is with the body completely unclothed. Our therapists are sensitive to the need for privacy and will keep your body draped at all times with a sheet, except for the area being massaged. If this arrangement is not comfortable for you, you may wear underwear. Our massages are strictly for therapeutic purposes.

*Breathing is a key element to massage. Focus on your breathing throughout your massage.

*Communication is very important during the session. Do remember this is your time, so please give your therapist feedback regarding amount of pressure, speed of movement, etc during your massage.

*Some people like to talk during a massage session, while others remain silent. If talking helps you clear your mind, or focus yourself, then talk. If silence helps you concentrate and releases various stress patterns, then you need not speak.

*It is important to drink extra water after the massage. This will assist in the overall cleansing process and help to flush out any toxins released during the massage. If you are sore later, try drinking more water.

*Massage has cumulative benefits over time. The more you receive, the better you will feel. Research has shown that receiving massage once a month is the minimum required to receive the cumulative benefits.

ABOVE ALL ELSE: Remember...This is your time and you know your body best. Please let us know if anything is uncomfortable or if you need anything. Massage should NEVER hurt or be endured.

Please let your therapist know if anything is uncomfortable or if you need anything.

This is your time.
